Kunio-kun is a game series that has been around since the NES era. While only a few of the Kunio games have been released in America, like River City Ransom and Super Dodge Ball on the NES, the series has resulted in over 20 titles in Japan in the past two decades.
But although the western versions of the games were highly localized, the Japanese versions have always taken place in Japan. The newest game, Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun SP: Rantou Kyousoukyoku (Hot-Blooded, Young and Tough Kunio-kun Special: Brawling Concerto), takes place in Tokyo and allows you to fight through many of the metropolis' most famous districts in retro 8-bit glory—including otaku heaven, Akihabara.
While it isn't a faithful building-to-building remake of the area, all the general landmarks are there—including arcades and the various shops. You even head into a knock-off version of Akihabara's Yodobashi Camera electronics store.

Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun SP: Rantou Kyousoukyoku was released in Japan on August 8, 2013. There is currently no word on a Western release.
