In today's special later-than-normal, screw the top-right box edition of Speak Up on Kotaku, commenter Slagathorian shares some truly spectacular wooden creations that the editor is pretty sure he'd make a killing selling on Etsy.

So I've been hitting the blocks again, by that I mean I've been making pixelated wooden block characters.

I'm finished all the Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger characters. Each character is made from 400-800 wooden blocks. All hand painted and then glued together. Each character is about 20-34 inches high, and takes about 20 hours of labor. Not to mention about 40$-80$ worth of material.

Other series of characters to follow in the coming days.

About Speak Up on Kotaku: Our readers have a lot to say, and sometimes what they have to say has nothing to do with the stories we run. That's why we have a forum on Kotaku called TAY. That's the place to post anecdotes, photos, game tips and hints, and anything you want to share with Kotaku at large. Every weekday we'll pull one of the best TAY posts we can find and highlight it here.
