A game starring a depressed otaku character?

...Is this just an act of extreme self indulgence? Would I be backing something that's the equivalent to a depressed otaku's diary in video game form? *shudder*

Is there a picture of Omocat in person anywhere on the Internet?

There's just something about all of this that really rubs me the wrong way. Or maybe I'm just not the target audience for this game, even though I'm a huge fan of Earthbound.
