For Sale: Freakin’ Amazing Nintendo Art

Remember those creepy Nintendo bust sculptures from a few weeks ago? They were pretty cool, right? Well, they’re just a small part of a massive NES-themed art show opening in New York City this Friday. We’ve got a look at more pieces that will be in Bottleneck Gallery’s upcoming 3NES art exhibit and, honestly, they’re pretty stunning.

There will be 180 pieces total in the 3NES show and attendees will have the chance to win an NES with Super Mario Bros., Metroid and the Legend of Zelda carts. Dozens of interpretations of Mario, Link and Samus will be on display, making it a Nintendo nostalgist’s dream. The fact that art shows devoted entirely to NES characters exist is a sign of how enduring the design and emotional connection to those games continues to be. For those interested in buying the art but that can't make it to the show, it will all go on sale this Saturday at 12 p.m. Eastern time, with updates running on the gallery’s Facebook page.
