I had never heard of VR game Derail Valley until this week, but after seeing this trailer for an impending overhaul I’m very interested! You’re a train driver who doesn’t just move the trains, but also more importantly for the genre walks around them with clipboards and makes sure cabin doors are closed.

Big simulator fan here, and this looks pretty legit!
Read a steam review from an alleged train operator who also hobbies with the Train Simulator series and apparently this game handles some of the more serious aspects like wheel slip which is non-existent in the Train Sim series. While the trains are more loosely based on certain models rather than licensed replicas, it fits into the VR model better while still being relevant to the control of a real train.
edit: I also installed SnowRunner last night, what a blast! I had Spin Tires way back, had Mudrunner for free due to spintires purchase I guess, which is just the same game but revamped. The more task oriented system makes the game a tad easier but I am feeling a difficulty spike right now as I get the easy entry level stuff done.
The relevance of scouting terrain out beforehand has made those smaller trucks much more useful than before (the Kan Marshall that you get with the full season pass edition is a beast!)
Anyways, its been a good year for industrial/driving games, time to get my freight on!
