Bioshock Infinite released on March 26th, 2013. If you look at the Google Search Trends from that point onward, you might notice something curious: people are looking up the search terms "Wounded Knee Massacre" a hell of a lot more than they did before Infinite's launch.

What does Bioshock Infinite have to do with the infamous incident? Well, it's a part of the plot:

Some people don't know what Wounded Knee refers to though, and naturally took to the Internet to find out. Here's a graph showcasing just how much the searches for Wounded Knee spiked near Bioshock Infinite's launch.

Hopefully Google set those folk straight. And remember: it's easy to be snarky about ignorance. Sure, some people don't know what Wounded Knee refers to, but that graph above is evidence of attempts to self-educate. A noble thing!

And if this is you; if you too thought there was a Skyrim reference in Bioshock Infinite...here, happy reading.
