It's 2011. You've seen how movies are made. You've seen how video games are made. But have you seen how video game toys are made?

This clip shows how McFarlane, who have the main license to produce Halo action figures, has developed its line over the years. Beginning with the actual in-game models used by Bungie, prototypes are spat out of a 3D printer before they're moulded, cast, sanded back, trimmed, assembled and painted.

Note that this is just the process for prototype figures. Production figures—the ones that are made in the thousands—don't get quite the same level of attention.
