Hideo Kojima Wants Metal Gear To Keep Going after He Dies

After every Metal Gear game he makes, Hideo Kojima usually says he's done with the series. Sometimes Kojima even asks Kotaku readers to tell his boss that he doesn't have to make Metal Gear games anymore. This time, it's different.

At a recent presentation at USC, Kojima said, "First of all, I just want to say that as long as there are fans who want Metal Gear Solid, as a producer, I will always want to still make them and I want the series to continue."

Continuing, he added, "So even after I die, I still would love to have the Metal Gear Solid series continue."

That's a rather morbid thing to say, but okay.

Kojima added that, like members of the mob, every time he tries to get out of making a Metal Gear game, he gets sucked back in to fix things.

According to the game creator, "I also want to take the numbered series, the official canon Metal Gear, and hand that off to someone."

Wouldn't that mean he'd have to come back in and correct the work of others? Not that it would be a bad thing if he did. It would just mean that, yes, Mr. Kojima has to make Metal Gear.
