Re: In Japan, Being Different Is Hard
Tristn is entering the likes-to-be-scared phase of adolescent Halloween celebrating. I've actually never left this phase. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays of the year. It's great.
This year he wanted to dress up as Michael Myers, never mind that he's never seen Halloween or anything like it, but he changed his mind at the store when we found him a particularly creepy Scarecrow outfit. His plan, sit in a chair by the front door and then leap up and scare the bejesus out of hapless trick or treaters. I fully endorse this idea.
I was in Japan leading up to Halloween a couple of years back and it seems to be getting a lot more popular on some level. Do you trick or treat with your kids?
