Develop magazine has released the 2010 Develop 100, an annual listing of the most successful game developers in the industry. Who took the number one slot this year? I'll give you a hint: Nintendo.

I really suck at this whole hint thing.

World of Warcraft developer Blizzard may have kicked the house of Mario from the top spot in the Develop 100 last year, but the sheer number of Nintendo DS consoles in players' hands and the widespread appeal of titles like Wii Fit put Nintendo back on top of the list, while Blizzard bides its time in the number 80 spot.

Call of Duty helped Activision developers Infinity Ward and Treyarch score the number 2 and number 8 slots respectively, while Canada represented with number 3, EA Canada, and number 4, Ubisoft Montreal.

The list returns to the U.S. briefly, with Sega Superstars Tennis and Silent Hill: Homecoming developer Foundation 9 takes the 5th position, before returning to Japan to fill the remaining slots with Sega, Capcom, Yuke's, and Level 5 at 6, 7, 9, and 10.

The 2010 Develop 100 was compiled based on GfK Chart-Track data charting the sales of their games in the UK, so if your favorite studio isn't where you think it should be, blame the United Kingdom.

For the rest of the Develop 100, follow the most successful link in this post, according to data acquired by guessing.
