While cosplay is exploding in popularity, not everyone is cool with seeing hordes of people dressed up at conventions. Comic artist Pat Broderick is one such person.

In a note left on his Facebook page, Broderick - who has worked on Batman and Micronauts - says:

If you're a Cosplay personality, please don't send me a friend request. If you're a convention promoter and you're building your show around cosplay events and mega multiple media guest don't invite me....You bring nothing of value to the shows, and if you're a promoter pushing cosplay as your main attraction you're not helping the industry or comics market..Thank you..

Hot take.

Even hotter are the comments below, including gems like "KEEP COMICS AS COMICS!!!", "I think maybe this cosplay phenomenon is just a trendy thing like disco maybe?", and this cracker:

They're their to pose and posture to an audience, andin my opinion, have no real interest in comic books really. I'm not against them, but they should have their own conventions. I read a lot about female cosplayers attracting the wrong sort of people to the conventions also, namely sex pests.
