You may hate its multiplayer modes. You may abhor the fact it's characters are so testosterone-fuelled they border on self parody. That doesn't matter. The Gears of War series has sold nine million copies.
Speaking with GameDaily, Microsoft's Guy Welch has revealed that since Gears of War 2 was released in November, it's sold four million copies worldwide. That means it's selling at a much faster rate than its predecessor, which as of today has sold five million copies worldwide.
That's nine million copies sold all-up. Not bad for a series that, when it comes to sci-fi shooters, is Microsoft's second string.
