Gears of War: Anvil Gate, the third book in the Gears of War novel series, will tell the story of what happened between the second and third video game.
In Anvil Gate New York Times bestselling author Karen Traviss writes about the travails of Jacinto's survivors to rebuild human society following the end of the second game. Before long the Lambent rear their ugly heads and the surviving Gears need to team up with the pirate gangs that have been raiding their city to take on the new threat.
"Anvil Gate is part of the fast-moving storyline between the second and third Gears games, so it's essential reading for any fan who wants to fully understand the events of Gears of War 3 - the final game of the trilogy, also written by Karen," said Epic Games Executive Producer Rod Fergusson.
The novel hits stores on Aug. 31 for $16.
