Leland Beasley, the 43-year-old owner of the Gamestation Sector 19 video game stores in St. Louis County, Missouri, has been sentenced to 290 years in prison for the possession and production of child pornography, videos he recording during all-night gaming sessions at his place of business.
In the harshest federal sentence for child porn ever handed down in the eastern district of Missouri, Beasley will be spending a fraction of the following 3,480 months in prison, after being found guilty of ten counts of production of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography.
As the owner of the popular Gamestation Sector 19 video game store on Lemay Ferry Road in St. Louis, Beasley didn't have to hunt for his victims; they came directly to him. Leland held sleepover events at his store on a regular basis starting in 2006. During these events he would fondle sleeping boys, videotaping himself performing lewd actions on the sleeping youths.
During a trial that took place in April, Beasley's victims took the stand. They had to watch the videos taken of them, describing to the court what was happening. According to Lt. Chris Mateja, the deputy director of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Beasley denied being in the videos, despite his obvious presence. ""He never showed any remorse either. The judge made note of that in her sentencing today."
Beasley still faces charges for the actual molestation of his victims. In January he was charged with one count of child molestation. In February a St. Louis Country grand jury upped those charges to two counts of first-degree child molestation, five counts of first-degree statutory sodomy, two counts of third-degree assault and attempted statutory sodomy. These charges are in addition to the child pornography charges that netted him nearly 300 years in jail.
