Five Hours of Rest

I'm writing this as I fly back from San Francisco to Denver. Yesterday was a busy, busy day. I got up at 3:30 a.m. to catch a 6 a.m. flight to San Francisco, writing some stories and reviews as I flew.

When I landed I caught a cab to my hotel to drop a bag off and then walked over to the Ubisoft offices. After a few meetings, I walked over to Microsoft's X10 event and stayed there, checking out games, sitting in on presentations and interviewing folks, until about 10 p.m.

Then I walked back to the hotel and stayed up for another hour or so working on transcription and stories. It may not sound like it, but those 19 hours or so flew by. After finishing this up I plan to listen to a bit of Janis Joplin while I work on my weekly syndicated column, this one about the representation of love in Dante's Inferno. My plan is to file soon after I land and then get ready for an early Valentine's Day dinner with Trish.

As busy as this job can get sometimes, I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Have a good weekend.
