While the Hollywood Ghost in the Shell movie with Scarlett Johansson lurches forward, a new GiTS stage play recently opened in Tokyo.

It’s called Ghost in the Shell Arise: Ghost is Alive. It’s totally official, and the poster looks totally terrific:

Ghost in the Shell Arise: Ghost is Alive runs until November 15. You can see more on the play’s official site. The Hollywood movie comes out sometime never, I hope.

i am surprise people or Japanese for that matter would go to see play about anime/Games, enough of them to be profitable anyway. i mean i understand stand if it some famous play by famous performer or writer but this? young people would not go to see a play, old/classy people would not see a play about game/manga
