In this gorgeous cinematic trailer for Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Ezio shows no sign of being slowed down by old age, except for the odd hallucination of the assassin that came before him.
I've never played an AC but from this trailer I feel there's a lot more negative to takeaway than good.
- It's pretty.
- Enemy AI seems non-existent. When the smoke bomb was thrown in the early part of the video, enemies just stood there and basically said "Stab me please!" When he approached the ship and was surrounded by 3 or 4 enemies he proceeded to do a fancy kill animation while the others just stood there watching their NPC brethren die. Why don't these NPC move or flail around attempting to do damage to the hero?
- This is part stealth? The dude is walking around in public, in broad daylight, in clothing that makes him stand out. If he were walking around in Arizona like this they'd be asking him for his papers and deporting his ass faster than a cop can reach for a doughnut.
- Why does fire always equal "boom!" Mythbusters already showed it's hard as heck to set ships on fire with a bow and arrow. Cannonballs should be flying around if those ships are gonna blow up like that.
This game looks like it should be a free running game set in whatever period this is with a bunch of Goombas and Koopa Troopas waiting to be bopped off. Wait, I think the Goombas and Koopas may actually put up a fight in comparison to these enemies...
