Howard Phillips, former "President" of the Nintendo Fun Club and Nintendo figurehead, has a new gig. He's the new studio director at Chair Entertainment, the development house snatched up by Epic Games last year.
Phillips other gigs include a stint as one half of the comic duo Howard and Nester, a long-running feature in Nintendo Power, and product development roles at Microsoft, THQ and LucasArts. He's sitting down at Chair to help the studio grow as it moves from smaller Xbox Live Arcade games like Undertow to the studio's Ender's Game project(s) and Empire.
Epic president Michael Capps said in a statement that "Howard's continued inspiration, as well as his expertise in product development, will be a tremendous asset to Chair as the studio continues to grow and create ground-breaking games."
Chair owner Epic Games says it plans to show off new Unreal Engine 3 features next week at GDC.
