During Bethesda’s E3 conference, Arkane debuted the first gameplay footage of Dishonored 2. It looks very shiny. And French.
In Dishonored 2, Emily rules over Dunwald with the aid of her Grizzled But Weirdly Hot Dad, Dishonored 1 hero Corvo. But then, bad dudes oust her, and Emily and Corvo (both playable) have to unravel a conspiracy and kill a whole mess of jerks by dropping whale oil tanks on them. The game mostly takes place in Karnaca, a new city. It’s less gray than the first game’s Dunwall and much more vertical.
There are, of course, new combat mechanics and teleporting stealth ghost powers. For instance, Emily can link soldiers together such that if one, say, gets stunned by a stun mine, so will others. Emily can also shadow walk, allowing her to, er, walk in shadows and be seemingly invisible.
One of the environments Arkane showed off was a ruined manor in which you can leap THROUGH TIME. You can even use your time piece to see where soldiers are in the past before jumping all the way back in time and sneaking past them or slicing them to shiny, French ribbons. It looked dope as fuck.
There’s also a trailer:
Dishonored 2 will be out on November 11.
