Tomonobu Itagaki, former head of Tecmo's Team Ninja and creator of the Dead or Alive and 3D Ninja Gaiden series is gearing up to reveal his next big project at E3 2010 next week. Will breast physics be involved?
With his long hair and trademark sunglasses, Itagaki is as much a character as the ones appearing in the game's he's created over the past 18 years. Along with creating the Dead or Alive series and transforming the Ninja Gaiden franchise from 2D platform to 3D action-adventure, Itagaki is also known for his frank personality and his unabashed appreciation of the female form.
Following a dispute over unpaid bonuses, Itagaki left Tecmo in 2008 to find his own way, founding Valhalla Game Studio along with other former members of Team Ninja.
And now he's ready to show us what he can do on his own.
In a blog post on the Valhalla Game Studios website, Itagaki promises a "new gaming paradigm."
In the past, I created four unique games - "Dead or Alive", "Ninja Gaiden", "DOA Xtreme", and "NG Dragon Sword". Thus, this announcement will be the fifth all-new project in my lifetime. I don't know if that number is large or small, but I know as a fact that every one of these announcements was a presentation of a new gaming paradigm from me to all of you. This time, it is no different.
Considering Itagaki's track record, I'd say we're in for something incredibly sexy.
We'll have more for you next week, during E3 2010!
