Pitcher Curt Schilling has announced he's retiring from Major League Baseball. During his career, Schilling posted a win-loss record of 216-146 and chalked up 3,116 strikeouts.
In his official blog, Schilling wrote: "The game always gave me far more than I ever gave it... The game was here long before I was, and will be here long after I'm gone. The only thing I hope I did was never put in question my love for the game, or my passion to be counted on when it mattered most. I did everything I could to win every time I was handed the ball."
The last game 42-year-old Schilling pitched was in 2007 as he spent most of 2008 on the disabled list. In the meantime, he's kept busy with the game start-up he founded 38 Studios. Now that his pesky baseball career is out of the way, Schilling can concrete on game making. 38 Studios has been creating a MMORPG that code-named Copernicus. Schilling is a well-known for his love of PC title EverQuest. That, and playing baseball.
