Using the AK-74 effectively in Black Ops 6 multiplayer

While it’s certainly not the meta weapon that fans would hope for, considering its overall power potential, the AK-74 remains a viable choice. It’s lagging behind fast-firing submachine guns, like the C9, or low-TTK (time to kill) assault rifles, such as the AS VAL, but the iconic rifle retains a place near the top.

If you want to excel with the AK-74, here are a few tips:

Don’t rush headlong into a fight. While the AK-74 holds its own in most encounters, it’s not an ideal close-range weapon. You’ll find that hip-firing isn’t overly accurate, and such situations wind up more frantic than controlled. Instead, stick to mid-range, aiming down the sights to deal accurate, on-target damage.

The AK-74’s slow rate of fire makes it a highly controllable assault rifle that’s perfect for both beginners and veteran players. The key is to learn its sights, as you’ll want to ADS for greater precision.

For additional control and ammunition conservation, try firing in short bursts instead of unloading the entire magazine in a single spray. A few well-placed shots to the head or upper torso will down an enemy.
