2K Games bolsters the multiplayer experience in BioShock 2 next month, with the release of the Sinclair Solutions Test Pack, bringing new trials, weapon upgrades, playable characters, and a rank increase to our second dose of Rapture.
The Sinclair Solutions Test Pack, due out next month for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, is the first in what 2K Games is calling an "aggressive post-launch downloadable content plan" for BioShock 2. Focusing on multiplayer, the pack increases rank levels to 50, delivers two new playable characters in Louie McGraff and Oscar Calraca, adds 20 new trials, five additional masks, and a third weapon upgrade for each weapon.
As someone who hasn't even touched the multiplayer aspect of the game yet, this means nothing, but I'm sure it's lovely for those who have.
"The fans who waited in the snow, rain and cold for the midnight launch of BioShock 2 have spoken and their message is that Rapture still has many fascinating stories to tell," said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. "Downloadable content is a key part of our efforts to continue to entice the fans that have made 2K a household name - we intend to deliver single and multiplayer content that respects and expands upon one of the greatest fictional worlds ever created."
The Sinclair Solutions Test Pack will run players 400 Microsoft points or $4.99, depending on how they pay on what they play. Check out more screens from the DLC below.
And remember, this is just the opening shot. 2K plans much more DLC for BioShock 2, including narrative-exanding single player content that delves deeper into the lore of Rapture and its inhabitants.
