23. Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket

There’s plenty of appeal in collecting Pokemon cards that don’t also take up space in your home. Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket gives you all the good brain chemicals without any of the clutter. That’s all well and good, but my perception of Pokémon TCG Pocket is skewed because I constantly get terrible pulls while everyone else is getting incredible full-art cards. It’s a gacha game and your enjoyment is largely determined by your luck and willingness to dump money into it to make it better. It’s got some stunning artwork that I would love to see light up my phone, but I can also pull them up as a jpeg in my photos app without feeding into the dopamine drip feed Pocket latches onto. The actual card game mechanics use a slightly altered ruleset compared to the actual TCG, and I can go play that on another app. Maybe I’m just bitter because I’ve got several hundred duplicates when all I want is the Palkia immersive full art. Or maybe I’m not giving in to another gambling game that wants to soak up my time and money.
