12. Detective Pikachu Returns

The Switch sequel to Detective Pikachu doesn’t feel quite as novel as the 3DS original, and somehow feels even more simple-minded in its mystery-solving puzzles. It’s also kinda ugly for a Switch game, and is robbed off its most impactful story reveals by the live-action movie spoiling them four years earlier. But it does manage to pull off some of those big beats in a more compelling way than the film, has some surprisingly potent commentary on how all cops are bastards, and is still one of the most interesting depictions of the Pokémon world.
