Nintendo wants fans to help them celebrate 25 years of Hyrulian adventure by creating their own Zelda-themed animations in Flipnote Studio, with the winners publically judged by the creators of the beloved series, including one Mr. Miyamoto.
Using templates and music made available by Nintendo, fans can use the free Flipnote Studio on their DSi or DSi XL systems to creating moving (and moving) tributes to the quarter of a century-old franchise. Fans can submit their entries between now and September 9 (see the contest website for details), after which a select few will be chosen to receive critique from a panel of The Legend of Zelda's creators, including Shigeru Miyamoto, Takashi Tezuka, Eiji Aonuma and Yoshiaki Koizumi. Zelda's creators will judge your creations, and while I'm positive they'll be nice, I'd love to see Miyamoto tell a fan how much his or her animation sucks.
The winners will be displayed prominently upon Nintendo's website, the Wii's Nintendo Channel, and Flipnote Hatena.
