She seemed useless from the start to me since a) her “bank’s” cap is so low, and b) if you can defeat your shadow you get all your money back. So I never invested in her until I learned you can collect even more by kicking her around in the hot spring! Read more

I can’t be the only one who saw the 4500 Geo limit and thought: Read more

I’m kind of in a similar boat, but mainly because I underestimated the heat output of my processor. I have an i7 6800K which is an older 6 core/12 thread CPU. I bought the Corsair H80i v2 (a 120mm AIO that’s in a push/pull config) when I originally built my system. I have a modest overclock of about 17% (Base clock is Read more

Those temps do seem a bit high. I’d be worried the AIO solution wasn’t pulling its weight. Those should perform a little better than an air-cooler, assuming you’ve mated the right AIO to your CPU. I’m of the opinion that you should try a decent air cooler (Coolermaster evo 212 or better) if only just to compare. Give Read more

Cooling isn’t hard. Huge heatsink low fan speeds. Huge heatsink, overclock and normal to loud fan speeds. Medium heatsink normal to loud fan, no practical overclock. Hybrid or full liquid cooling mean low fan speeds or high with overclock. Read more

Maybe stop dickin’ around and go all out.

I gave up on having a quiet computer when doing resource heavy tasks. I put one of Noctua’s industrial fans onto a Corsair radiator (it’s especially thick so I figured having more static pressure would be beneficial). A 3000rpm fan is overkill (especially for an itx build) and makes my computer sound like it’s trying Read more

Then stick with stocks parts and don’t overclock and don’t worry about it.  No one is forcing you to do this.

I know this is a thread about hating on primal aspids, but can I take a moment for a big shouts out to the shockingly huge amount of enemy variety in this game tho? I was totally blown away by how many different things there were to kill in Hollow Knight. Especially after Breath of the Wild, which was incredibly fun Read more

I haven’t yet played Hollow Knight so I have nothing meaningful to add, but when I was 4 years old I watched the Flukeman episode of the X-Files, and was so scared that I refused to poop for days. And I only finally agreed to poop again if my poor, saintly mother sat on the toilet with me. There is photographic Read more

Man I could not agree with you more about the primal aspids. They were the biggest hurdle for me in the Colosseum  as well and I was SO happy when I beat it.

These assholes teleport right when you’re about to hit them, then smack you with an orb. HATE EM

I love this game SO MUCH. I wish it had more replayability. I’m obsessively checking for a Gods and Glory update every day.

Huge fan of Symphony of the Night and Shadow Complex and when I learned it was Metroidvania I purchased it immediately. It sounds like I’m in for a treat. Thanks for the review, Kirk! Read more

You forgot to mention the best part of the game: Myla the mining bug!
