It’s so, so good. Usually I’m kind of a weenie when it comes to games, preferring to use guides and have full maps and stuff like that. I still do that to an extent with Hollow Knight (some areas, finding Conifer to get the map takes a little too long for my liking) but I’m definitely way more open to trying to mostly Read more

I recently bought the game to the switch and it may be my favorite metroidvania I have played, which is a genre that I really like and have played a lot. Read more

100 percent completed this game. Took 64 hours. What an amazing experience. Read more

Surely that means that now I’ll be able to beat The Radiance with no trouble, right?

Instead of a Pro controller I bought an 8bitdo USB wireless adapter and connected a DualShock 4. Excellent D-pad and no awkward diagonally aligned analog sticks. Way cheaper (since I already had a DS4) I’m very happy! Read more

I did it month ago, and it does work lot better, but it is still imperfect... Shame that one of the most expensive non-premium controller in the market has this severe flaw..

I can confirm that the newer (late 2017) models are indeed better. I was having these dpad issues as well as unresponsive triggers. I called up Nintendo and they said they could repair it for $50. I said I might as well buy a new controller at that point and they lowered it to just the shipping cost of $15. I then Read more

I went nuts playing Celeste on the Pro Controller. I swear my inputs were right but the game kept doing things I didn’t want it to. I came to the realization that clean inputs were a must. Started using the JoyCons instead. Results improved but the stupid things are so tiny they’re uncomfortable in my hands... Read more

Here’s a secret for everyone out there : the joy-con’s d-pad is amazing for precision platforming games (and terrible for fighting games). Played Celeste on it, got golden strawberries on all c-sides and most a-sides. Currently playing HK for the 2nd time on the Switch (first time on PC with a dual shock 4) and I feel Read more

I tried this about a month ago on my Xenoblade 2 Pro Controller, and it didn’t work. Still unreliable. One of the worst d-pads I’ve ever used. Which is mind boggling coming from Nintendo. Read more

They don’t make them like they used to..

That’s one of the most validating things I’ve heard about a video game. I psyched myself out every time I saw one of them.  Read more

Right? Those three shooters were the reason I was so happy to get the vertical soul attack. I was happy to burn any and all soul just to get rid of those things asap.

That’s actually an interesting dichotomy. Owlboy and Hollow Knight both reflect really, really wonderful things about (imo) mid-90s gaming, but different things. I really need to play more of Owlboy...I’ve spent about 140 hours with Hollow Knight, it’d only be fair.

Hollow Knight was far and away my Game of the Year last year, and I played it into the ground to get all the achievements. However, now that the DLC has been released for it, I’m reticent to go back to it because of how difficult it was to get there. On the other hand, I know all it’ll take to get up that courage is Read more

Everything about this game is amazing. I’m double dipping with the Switch version! Read more

Ugh this makes me feel every bit of my 45 years. I always loved boss fights, the harder the better. Still remember waking up my parents after finally beating Jaquio in Ninja Gaiden. You whipper snappers don’t have the patience for it anymore I guess. Also get off my lawn....  Read more

I find that if it’s late and I’m just banging my head on something I should just stop and take a huge break - till the next day! Usually I’ll then beat the previously impossible challenge in a couple minutes - one failed try to get my bearings back, then the next one is smooth as heck. Read more

I haven’t liked bosses since they first showed up in video games. I mean it was ok in Sinistar, since the game was based around him. But Kung Fu Master... the bosses just disturbed the flow of the game. :(

Having recently met someone who’s quit DSII, Bloodborne and on his way to quitting DS and still wanting to play Nioh, I think I may have to show him this xD Read more
