I love all the fun movement tricks that some games let you do. Fencer dash cancelling in EDF might be my favorite but any time you can hop or roll or dash backwards to traverse your environment faster, I’m a fan. May they never tweak No Man’s Sky’s out of existence. Read more

i have to learn this immediately, i tried this game again last night and almost fell asleep walking back to my ship. Read more

Long live the melee jump! I like saving a bit of juice for when I’m just about to touch down, and I then hit it for a final little swoop upwards before landing. Read more

If you think about it, it only makes things *slightly* more convenient given the scale of the planets. But it really does make all the difference. Read more

This move doesn’t break the game and I’m sure Hello Games is fully aware that removing it would make the game slower and less fun. Read more

Honestly my favorite part of the update was that they didn’t remove the melee jump. Although the movement speed should have been faster from the beginning anyway Read more

I think it was Black Ops 2, but one of them had the best scoreboard of any CoD, which then was chucked and never repeated in the series. Objective based modes gave points for objectives and didn’t show deaths. The board showed captures, defenses, relevant to objective modes.

Which reminds me, I still need to get a better stylus than the free pen/stylus I got at some conference somewhere. My crude rendering of of Pearl exclaiming the ketchup on her fries is salty is probably getting obnoxious by now. Read more

This isn’t really feasible for this gen, but I really hope Sony and Microsoft branch out to use a split style controller in the future. I hate holding a standard controller after using the split joycons, and the way you aim (laser pointer style) is a total game changer for shooters. Every time I go back to using twin Read more

I have very conflicting feelings about this as a competitive player. As a very old Smash Brothers Melee player (I know that will elicit guffaws from some), this is something that a lot of people don’t appreciate. For 15 years, Melee has not been patched, updated, or altered in any way. Because of that, we can Read more

This nonsense about patching games after release is why I still haven’t touched Final Fantasy XV. I WANT to, but it’s a single player game that has seasonal and timed events, and full chapters of exposition that should have come out at launch. Playing Final Fantasy XV for the first time would be an entirely different Read more

I feel there are really two “best” times to play a game (although I completely agree with the sentiment of the article I’m just saying for myself these are the most prefered times to play) Read more

Best time to play a video game: After work with a beer and a full bowl.

No, it’s pretty easy to stop. I bought a single Amiibo a couple of years ago, still have the one.
