Thank you. My kid is going to love it. Read more

“Thanks to fatherhood, Michael’s interests have become my interests. Once upon a time, my likes and dislikes were my own. But now, with less time to myself, watching my son enjoy his hobbies constitutes its own enjoyment.” Read more

Some of my best memories as a kid. It would take a lot of effort not to at least crack a smile, it’s just such a crazy show. My dad used to take me at least once a year. Read more

Nice. A new believer! Monster Trucks definitely get a bad rap for being a boring red neck thing. I haven’t been to one since I was a child (30 now) but I did go to a handful, ranging from an event at Englishtown Raceway (a Drag Strip which is being closed down for weird reasons, written on Jalopnik) to I think it was Read more

Man when I was a kid the big rivalry was Grave Digger and Goldberg. Both were really loved. The first ever Monster Jam PPV I saw(yes you read that right, Monster Jam pay per view) was a show highlighted by these two. I was happy by the end because the two kept swapping back and forth wins in events. Read more

Oh man. You’ve got a future Jalop on your hands! Read more

I’ve never been to a monster truck event before, but this actually sounds really cool!

I’m not sure why it’s not linked in the article, by Alanis from Jalopnik got to drive the Megalodon truck pictured above last month:

That’s a pretty accurate assessment. Bigfoot was ALWAYS a face. Grave Digger was more of a neutral party that would win a lot. Sorta like Jimmy Johnson. He wasn’t a heel or a face. Read more

On top of that, from what I’ve seen, they’re often cheap as hell to attend as well which doesn’t hurt. Read more

The Pro-Wrestling comparisons are really apt here. Back when both the WWE (then WWF and with Hulk Hogan as the face) and Monster Truck racing (Led by Bigfoot as the ‘face’) were getting starting, they actually had a rather lengthy connection and hyped each other’s events. For the longest time there even were trucks Read more

I will admit I was one of those assholes who thought Monster truck rallies were a Hillbilly sport and that I would never enjoy it. Last year I visited an old friend from Kentucky and he wanted me to go with him. I really didn’t want to go but because I had not seen him in years I agreed. Read more

1) I suggest if you can get your hands on a Gear VR setup (other VR probably works too) there’s a neat Monster Jam montage you can watch with the camera closer to the action than the audience is allowed to get which is cool to see. Read more

Grave Digger is the face now but before it was around we had Bigfoot. Read more

The Fish in The Cat in the Hat should be at the top of this list. I know, in the cartoon it is voiced by a guy but the book does not assign that fish a gender and I would argue it is the ultimate Lame Bitch.

We are set up to hate the fish, when all it does is point out that we don’t know that cat and he should not be Read more

A very intriguing article, making a point that many have argued for a long time. I agree completely that the idea of Sparrow in the attraction wrecks the theme and story—indeed, if a pirate (even one as wacky as Johnny Depp) is successful at the end, how does it square with the moral tale of those gorgeous opening Read more

I just 100% the game yesterday, kept Darker side of the Moon for last, and once the muscle memory set in, I could do it fairly easily, by being careful. (took me a while though.)

As fjork mentioned it’s found by throwing Cappy at a stem from one of the fruit stacks. I vaguely recall it being near a Toad but not 100% sure. Read more

Don’t remember exactly which, but you spin Cappy on one of the vegetable stems near the power line that leads to the tower. Read more

I got all but two of the art moons, the last ones I had to cheat and look up because there was no possible way I was going to get them. One was sand kingdom, where I had the same issue as you did. The other was the one in Metro Kingdom, because I was convinced that the KEEP referred to the keep in Bowser’s Kingdom. I Read more
