The thirteenth game in Gust's alchemy-driven role-playing series is a great deal like the previous two, bringing the Arland trilogy to a close in North America later this year. Like Atelier Rorona and Atelier Totori before it, Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland is all about finding materials and crafting items, with the odd rabbit thrown in because hey, free rabbit.
Meruru is the princess of the kingdom of Arls, home of the Arlish (probably), who decides she's going to be Totori's first apprentice after witnessing the power of alchemy first-hand. Hijinks ensue.
While none of the PlayStation 3 Atelier games have provided anything close to the amount of joy I felt playing Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana on the PlayStation 2, NIS America does sell them in large, attractive boxes, which makes up for it somewhat.
