U.S. Assassin's Creed II fans looking to delve deeper into Ezio's story should check out Assassin's Creed Renaissance, the novelization of the game, released today at book stores around the country.
Assassin's Creed Renaissance, written by someone named Oliver Bowden who I've never heard of, follows the story of Ezio Auditore da Firenze as he does exactly what he did in Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed II, only in a more condensed form.
The book follows the game from start to finish, with the exception of chapters 12 and 13, which will be available for download at a later date.
I am just kidding.
"We're excited to be working with Penguin Group," said Andy Swanson, senior director of consumer products at Ubisoft. "Assassin's Creed Renaissance will offer the public a new and exciting way to experience the narrative world of Assassin's Creed II. The book deal with Penguin, along with the recent Assassin's Creed Lineage short film Ubisoft produced, is part of an ambitious strategy to bring the Assassin's Creed franchise to multiple entertainment media. We believe that these projects developed in tandem with the games themselves provide the player with a truly immersive experience into the Assassin's Creed world."
I've ordered it. I've developed my video game novel reading habits to the point where they've become an extension of game playing for me. My thumbs even twitch when I'm turning the pages.
