Hot and steamy. Usually shower scenes are sexy. Screw that! This one is unintentionally different. Just look at the water shooting off those fake eyelashes.
The above images are from drama After Aura (光環之后) from popular Chinese internet company Letv.com. The dramas the company shows are rather slick, and After Aura is an over-the-top potboiler.
Recently online in neighboring South Korea, images from an earlier After Aura episode have been amusing people on sites like Today Humor.
When the episode originally aired this past spring, it amused people in China and Taiwan, too, getting picked up by the news as well.
In the scene, the two characters are apologizing to each other, before a tender embrace, some smooching, and some eyelash faucet action.
That's Taiwanese actress Lene Lai with fake lashes turning a love scene into a comic one. Lai was a good sport about the whole thing, later explaining that it wasn't possible to change cosmetics for every scene.
"The director, the actors, the make-up artists and even myself, none of us noticed it because we were engrossed in the scene," she told reporters. "So after the episode aired I watched it, and I was like, 'Waaaah.' It was as though I was spouting water from my eye lashes or like what some people were saying—that my eyes were peeing or something like that. I feel that the whole thing is quite funny."
