Arkham Knight Gives Players Something Special For 240% Completion

The newest unlockable Batman costume in Arkham Knight doesn’t want your money. It wants your time, Caped Crusader. You don’t just have to complete the game to get it. You have to complete it at 240%.

The latest game for DC Comics’ nocturnal crimefighter is positively silly with alternate Batman costumes. Players can don variants based on the old 1966 TV version, homages to classic 1970 designs and the futuristic armor from Batman Beyond. Some of these were cosmetic options offered as part of paid microtransaction packs. But a new Batsuit hits the game today, as part of a December update to the game.

The press release that accompanied today’s update says that the “Batsuit v8.05 – Prestige Edition” can be equipped “after reaching 240% game completion.” 240%?! Sure seems like an odd number, right? To get most of the way to that inflated percentage, players need to complete the story campaign twice, with the second runthrough happening via the New Game+ option. Recent forum posts say that the final 40% comes from completing the new Season of Infamy expansion that’s part of the December DLC rollout.

As is practically inevitable with games that get released on PC, the Prestige Edition Batsuit has apparently also been accessed by scouring the game’s files. It can be unlocked by manipulating the game’s code, as seen in the video above. Previous exploits have made Alfred, Harley Quinn and other characters playable in the game, so it’s not that big a surprise that this new skin would get offered up via similar means. There’s no such shortcut if you’re on a PS4 or Xbox One. Console owners will have to get that gold Bat-symbol the hard way.
