The latest 2nd Gen Apple AirTags saw their first price cut since launch during the recent Prime Day sale, and Amazon surprisingly still hasn’t raised the price. A four-pack of the AirTags 2 is currently available for $89 at the retailer, after a $10 discount.

That works out to just $22 per tag. If you do not need as many tags as of now, a single AirTag is also on sale for $27, down from $29.

Louder speaker, better precision finding

Looks-wise, the new tags are quite similar to their predecessor. The size and font remain the same, but the etching on the back of the metal casing is now all caps. They are also just a bit heavier than the OG AirTags at 11.8 grams, but you likely won’t notice a difference in everyday use.

Performance has gotten better. For starters, AirTags 2 feature a 50% louder speaker with a new, distinctive chime, so you’ll be able to hear them ring better. This especially comes in handy when the tag is buried somewhere deep in the cushions or has somehow found its way into a sofa crack. You can make it ring using the companion app, and you’ll know exactly where to look for it.

The upgraded Ultra Wideband and Bluetooth chips expand the coverage zone, letting you find your items from even farther away. The Precision Finding range is about 1.5 times better, and you can be directed to the tag through both your iPhone and Apple Watch! A single AirTag can be shared with up to five people at the same time, so family members can keep an eye on the stuff that everyone uses, such as keys to the main door, car key, and umbrella, etc. Additionally, you can give a third party access to your tag’s location temporarily as well. For instance, if you’re having trouble locating your luggage at the airport, you can share the location access with the administration to get help.

AirTags 2 are splash, rain, and dust resistant, so environmental conditions won’t really affect the functionality. Each tag can work for more than a year on a standard battery. You’ll get an alert on your iPhone when it’s time to replace it. This basically means you won’t have to constantly keep track of the battery levels yourself.

A pack of four normally goes for $99, but you can grab it for $89 today. This lingering Prime Day deal ends soon, so it’s best to jump on it while there’s still time.
