"What would it look like if Nintendo built Google Earth?" That's the question used to describe Crackdown and APB developer Realtime World's new project, a mix of social gaming, social networking, and traditional gaming known as MyWorld.
Do you ever wish you could do with Google Earth? Sure, you can browse down to the street level, but you can't race through those streets, or fly a plane through those skies. That seems to be what Realtime Worlds' Project MyWorld looks to be. They're building the world so we can play in it.
Of course it isn't just about gaming. From the description:
Project: MyWorld turns the real world into a fun 3D social gaming experience. Project: MyWorld is a virtual recreation of the real world combined with 3D gaming and social media.
This is pretty much everything I've ever wanted from a social gaming experience, and more. It's an idea I've had myself but figured it was far too daunting a task to undertake.
Realtime Worlds would like to prove me wrong. I'd love for them to do so.
They're hoping to start letting everyone into Project: MyWorld early next year. For now, check out the link to the official website below to sign up for a chance to test out this ambitious project.
