I remember going into a non-Americanized establishment in Tokyo and at one point nature called. Followed the picture placard to to restrooms, opened a stall door to find, what are called, squat toilets. Note: imagine a toilet built into the floor with zero added height and one where you need to, you guessed it, squat hardcore over it. I needed a good minute to wrap my head around the concept and to prepare my thighs. Foreign restrooms are funky to my American mind.
