The Unreal Engine will soon get VR content creation tools, and while it might sound an impractical feature at first, the live demo Epic Games shared looks quite interesting.
Here’s Epic Games’ Tim Sweeney and Mike Fricker showing this new way of content creation, using a HTC Vive and an Oculus Touch, and basically building VR in VR. The UI interaction in the clip is pretty impressive.
It sounds like something everyone would try once but never use again, but being in the space that the player will occupy in the finished product, could be a great way to measure scale and positioning.
More details, including a release date, are coming on March 16, 2016 during this year’s GDC.
