The deadline to announce the winners for Activision’s $500,000 independent game development contest came and went… a month ago without word of any winners. What happened?

Have no worries, Activision tells Kotaku, the contest finalists have been selected and notified, but the process is taking a bit longer than they expected.
“We’ve concluded the first round of judging and have picked the top 5 entries,” an Activision spokesperson said. “The judges are in the process of picking a winner. We’ll have an announcement within a few weeks.”
