Over the weekend my mom threw a party for her Italian club friends. About 25 people or so came over with home cooked food, presents to donate to a local orphanage and white elephant gifts.

White elephant gift exchanges are pretty funny. The idea is that everyone who attends brings a present, a really crappy present. Then everyone draws a number and takes turns opening a present. Here's the twist: You can choose to either unwrap a present or to swipe somebody else's. If you take another person's present, they get to unwrap a new present. This goes on until everyone has gotten a turn.

I managed to land a Kiss action figure from the event. Mind you it's Paul Stanley, so not nearly as cool as it could have been. But he does come with throwing stars that attach to his boots , extendable wings and a transforming guitar. Just like the real Kiss. I suppose it could have been worse, I could have gotten a Peter Criss doll.
