Sega's blogs are buzzing with the news that Phantasy Star Portable 2 is heading to North America this fall, with twice the content of the previous games giving players plenty to poke at on their PlayStation Portables.
Phantasy Star Portable 2 picks up three years after the events in Phantasy Star Universe, the series' last console entry. The menace of SEED is long gone, but the fight has depleted the resources of the Gurhal system, forcing the people to migrate to new locations. At the beginning of the game the player is a member of a private military group stationed at a space colony resort. From there, one can likely expect plenty of wandering through dungeon environments, killing things for fun and profit.
They'll be able to do so with up to three friends as well, with Ad-Hoc and Infrastructure multiplayer, and long-time fans will welcome the return of Battle and Challenge missions, taken from the original Phantasy Star Online.
With more than 100 missions, 170 enemies, and 2,000 different weapons, Phantasy Star Portable 2 has tons to offer fans of futuristic level grinding when it hits the PSP this fall.
