My love for video games started when my dad bought a Super Nintendo home in the mid 90's. But as much fun as I had playing then, my young, impressionable brain was also scarred by a handful of gaming moments that left an indelible mark on my psyche. Even if those moments don't scare me anymore, I remember the first time I saw each one of them play out, and the effect it had on me later.
Watch the video above to see what I'm talking about.
I remember not wanting to swim in the deep end of my grandmother's pool because I could very vividly picture Clanker from Banjo-Kazooie swimming around down there.
"But Nick!," you might tell me, "Clanker was peaceful! He was a good guy!"
My 10-year-old brain didn't care. He was an enormous metal shark that could swallow a bear without any trouble, imagine what he could do to me.
I'll be the first to admit that I was kind of a wimpy kid. Hopefully someone else was also freaked out by some of the moments in this video. Anyone?
