The World's Finest team-up that's been rumored and then teased in advertising for months finally gets announced as Warner Bros. Interactive reveals Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes today. Aside from Batman, Robin and Superman, the game will also feature Wonder Woman and Green Lantern.

The miniature Superfriends gather together to stop Lex Luthor and the Joker from wreaking havoc in Gotham City, with the same co-op destroy-&-build gameplay that have made these games so fun.

I, for one hope that this is finally the game that sees dev studio Travelers' Tales implementing online co-op in their Lego games. Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes will be fighting crime on PC, Xbox 360, PS3, DS, 3DS, Wii and PlayStation Vita some time this summer, probably to take advantage of the Bat-mania that'll surround The Dark Knight Rises.
