Dispatch
From the ashes of Telltale, a phoenix rises. Dispatch is the debut game from AdHoc Studio, a team led by ex-developers from the narrative adventure studio behind The Walking Dead and Tales from the Borderlands. Though its raunchy humor might not be for everyone, the superhero workplace comedy brings back the team’s sharp dialogue and hard choices, and also throws in the occasional QTE action sequence for good measure. Dispatch’s surprise success proves that there’s still a hunger for the narrative adventure games of the early 2010s, and hopefully that means there’s more of these games to come from a team that was rudely interrupted from making them thanks to corporate fuckery. — Kenneth Shepard
