Arc Raiders is everything I’ve ever wanted from an online third-person shooter. It satisfyingly uses the genre trappings of extraction shooters before it to create devastating consequences for failure, which double as a genuine motivator to play your best and sharpen your techniques and instincts so that you’re prepared for anything. Surviving a round always feels satisfying, as you’re constantly building your arsenal to take on the next threat. And even when you lose it all, the call to get back out there, reassemble your tools, and learn engaging techniques of stealth, survival, and shooting makes for a wild and unpredictable generative rollercoaster ride. – Claire Jackson
