Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a proper return to form for the legendary stealth series, though that may seem obvious given that it’s a very faithful remake of one of the series’ best games. However, while Delta’s reimagining of the third MGS game is wildly faithful to the original experience, it also makes numerous gentle yet meaningful gameplay adjustments, resulting in a modern stealth experience that, I’d argue, is better than the original. Sneaking around the jungle, caked in mud, leaves, and branches from a proper third-person perspective has never felt so good. Delta is a powerful reminder of what worked so well in the early days of Metal Gear Solid and, hopefully, a sign of what’s to come for this foxy franchise. – Claire Jackson
