I’ve been playing some Foregone in between digging up eggs and pulling eggs out of the sea, and it’s pretty good! A bit brutal in parts, but the endless respawning (and gear improvements that come with it) temper this a little. The animation is gorgeous

After watching gameplay of this, I’m really feeling like this game is more than just an homage/riffs off similar aesthetics from Dead Cells, like.

The game looks, feels, sounds, and has areas/level design in it that are almost 1:1 copies of similar things in Dead Cells.

If this was an essay turned in for a grade in my class, I’d fail the creator for—at the very least—plagiarism-via-not-citing-sources.

Edit: Super doesn’t help that the creator of Foregone, Big Blue Bubble, is a mobile game dev/publisher whose greatest hits include My Singing Monsters, and...

Either a bunch of ports helmed by bigger companies, or more mobile trash.
