If you’re still reeling from this year’s disappointing Valkyria spinoff, here’s some welcome news: Valkyria Chronicles 4 is happening, and it’s coming to PS4, Xbox One, and Switch in 2018. Don’t worry: publisher Sega says the game is coming to North America and Europe, too.

Like its predecessors, Valkyria Chronicles 4 will be set within a fictional twist of Europe during World War II, blending turn-based strategy and third-person shooting as you guide a group of soldiers from battle to battle.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 takes place in the same timeframe as the original Valkyria Chronicles, but focuses on a whole new cast of main characters,” said Sega in a press release. “Players will take command of the eager, young Commander Claude Wallace, engineer/heavy weapons extraordinaire Riley Miller, hotheaded Darcsen Raz, ice-cold ace sniper Kai Schulen, and more. Together, they will experience the painful realities of war—but will the bonds of Squad E’s friendships survive the frozen battlefield?”

Legendary composer Hitoshi Sakimoto will also return for Valkyria Chronicles 4, Sega says.

This will be the first proper game in the series in nearly a decade. Sega released the first Valkyria Chronicles for PS3 in 2008, with a sequel following on PSP in 2010. A third game, Valkyria Chronicles III, came out in Japan for PSP in 2011 but never made it to English. This time, Sega’s not keeping us in suspense.
