Telltale Games is laying off 90 people, or about 25% of its staff, the company said today. “The decision is designed to make the company, a leader in player-driven narrative games, more competitive as a developer and publisher of groundbreaking story-driven gaming experiences with an emphasis on high quality in the years ahead,” Telltale said in a press release. “These changes are not expected to impact the release of any of the company’s previously announced projects.”

Is it me or I can seriously feel all the typical marketing department drivel behind this? I mean, this feels so over-thought by marketing people... It’s like, yadda, yadda, yadda, same BS that every company out there puts out whenever they lay off people. Marketing people trying to put a positive spin on a company laying off people for profitability reasons (but don’t say it like that.... say that it’s to .... improve the company, yeah! That’s it!)

Why can’t companies out there tell things like they are? Whenever companies put out statements like these, we all can read between the lines and know that it’s BS. So.... why continue to do it?
