Wildlands players’ long wait for PvP is almost over: This morning, Ubisoft announced that an open beta for Ghost Recon: Wildlands upcoming tactical PvP mode, called Ghost War, will start this summer
Seriously, it’s real! After weeks of the Ghost Recon community speculating about a possible cancellation or a completely revamped mode, official details from Ubisoft finally confirm that the player-vs-player experience will still be the 4-on-4 tactical team combat that it originally promised in its post-launch content plan many moons ago.
In Ghost War, players will choose from a list of classes designed for specific roles, and new PvP mechanics will be introduced. The 4v4 team deathmatch mode will take place on large-scale maps with various times and weather elements, building on the tactical experience from the main game.
The open beta launches this summer across PS4, Xbox One, and PC with a full release in the fall as a free update for everyone who owns Ghost Recon: Wildlands. Unfortunately, no exact beta dates have been announced yet, but a summer release window means PvP can’t be far off now.
